A blast furnace is a great utility block in Minecraft, especially useful in Factions mode servers where speed is key, as it smelts ores and metal items two times faster than a regular furnace. Although it smelts faster, it uses up coal, or whatever power source you are using, quicker as well. In this tutorial, we will go over how to make a blast furnace and when it is recommended that you use it.

    Required Materials

You will need 5 iron ingots, 1 furnace, and 3 smooth stones.

    Making The Blast Furnace

    1. Go to your crafting table and right-click on it.
    2. Place your furnace in the center and your smooth stones at the bottom 3 slots. Fill the rest with iron ingots.
    3. A blast furnace should now pop up to the right of your crafting table, grab it and place it in your inventory.

How Does The Blast Furnace Compare To Regular Furnaces And Smokers?

Minecraft Smokers are the fastest at cooking food materials, but they can only be used for this purpose.

The regular furnace is slower and may also work with ore; it can produce ingots for armor, weapons, tools- all of which will come in handy when you’re trying to survive a zombie invasion or other strategic escape plan!
